Lacey's 4th Of July Fireworks 2020 Postponed

Lacey's traditional Independence Day events may be postponed, but there are several other ways you can celebrate the holiday safely.

LACEY, NJ — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel or postpone the annual Fourth of July events, including Lacey.

Lacey doesn't have a definitive date for when their fireworks event will take place, but the township is looking at September.

"With the uncertainty of the social gathering limits and the amount of people our event draws, we had to make a decision early to postpone," township Administrator Veronica Laureigh told Patch. "It is not feasible to limit each access area to 500 persons and there are too many entrances that people use to get to the location and logistically it was not going to work this year."
