Lacey's Oyster Creek Station Passes Quarterly Safety Inspection
The NRC determined there were no findings of safety significance to be identified.

LACEY, N.J. — So far, so good in the decommissioning of Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station, according to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The NRC identified no safety issues during regular inspections from January to March.
The NRC performed on-site inspections Jan. 28 to 31, March 7 and March 26. Each inspection examined safety and compliance, and the results were discussed with Plant Manager Jeff Dostal.
Inspections included a review of organization and on-site management; safety reviews; design changes and modifications; self-assessments, audits and corrective actions; and decommissioning performance and surveillance, according to the NRC.

The process oversees safe operations for the shutdown of Oyster Creek, which permanently ceased operations Sept. 17. Oyster Creek certified the permanent removal of fuel from the reactor Sept. 25. The Decommissioning Power Reactor Inspection Program began Oct. 1.

"The inspector verified that management oversight was adequate for the post-operation transition phase of decommissioning and that no significant changes had been made to the Oyster Creek decommissioning organization since the previous inspection," the report states.
