Lanoka Harbor Woman Scammed In Medical Purchase: Police
The woman gave the security codes for $3,000 in Google Play cards to a scammer calling himself "John Morrison," police said.

Watch out for a scammer calling themselves "John Morrison," according to police. An unknown male bilked a Lanoka Harbor woman out of $3,000 after he told her she was overcharged for a medical device she bought, police said of a Jan. 14 fraud report.
The victim, who was unidentified, stated she ordered a medical-alert device and received contact shortly after from an unknown male who went by "John Morrison," police said. "John Morrison" told her she was overcharged for the device and advised her to purchase Google Play cards to fix the overpayment, according to police.
She bought $3,000 worth of Google Play cards, which "John Morrison" cashed with codes she provided, police said. The victim realized he scammed her, and she alerted the credit bureaus and contacted authorities about the incident, according to police.
