Learn To 'Shop Healthy On A Budget' In Lacey
The program will feature lessons on shopping smart, and dietitians will show people how to make some tasty, healthy meals.
LACEY, NJ — The Ocean County Health Department will run a program about shopping healthy on a budget. One session takes place from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 19 at Walmart in Lacey.
The program is called "How to Shop Healthy on a Budget with a Registered Dietician." The session will show people how to "shop smart," and dietitians will demonstrate a few tasty, healthy meals.
The first hour contains a food demonstration, while the second hour features a guided grocery tour.

"We want people to understand that eating healthy doesn't have to be expensive," said OCJD Public Health Coordinator Daniel Regenye. "Additionally, healthy meals don't have to be tasteless and really can be delicious without having to spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing."
The OCHD designed the program to help people manage diabetes. The seminar will also run at the following times and locations:

- 1-3 p.m. Jan. 27 at Walmart in Brick
- 1-3 p.m. March 23 at Walmart in Little Egg Harbor
The event will also offer flue and pneumonia vaccinations, chronic disease screenings and WIC certifications.
