Man Admits To Armed Robbery Of Lacey Bank, Prosecutor Says

The South Toms River man also admitted to the armed robbery of a Toms River Wawa just three days prior.

LACEY, NJ — A South Toms River man admitted to an armed robbery at a Lacey bank this past March, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced.

Kenneth Grant, 58, pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery in connection with the TD bank robbery on March 9 and a separate armed robbery in Toms River three days prior, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

On March 9, a man entered the bank with a gun and demanded cash from a bank teller, police said. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.

A warrant was issued for Grant's arrest and he was caught on March 26 in Newark by Lacey detectives with the assistance of the US Marshals NY/NJ Regional Task Force. He has sat in Ocean County Jail ever since, Billhimer said.

It was also discovered that on March 6, Grant approached a cashier at the Route 70 Wawa in Toms River, displayed a gun and demanded cash, Billhimer said. He was given the cash and fled on foot.

On March 26, Grant was charged for that robbery and served by way of complaint-warrant at Ocean County Jail, Billhimer said.
