Maryland Man Commits Suicide In Front Of Barnegat Barber Shop

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a Maryland man committed suicide recently in front of Darlene’s Barber Shop on North Main Street, spokesperson Al Della Fave said.

Barnegat police responded to the barber shop just before 9 a.m. on Dec. 19. They found Larry Wolf, 54, Edgewater, Maryland on a bench in front of the shop, with an ”obvious” gunshot wound to the head, Della Fave said.

A semi-automatic pistol and one spent shell was found on the ground in close proximity to Wolf’s body, he said.

“Wolf was known to an individual that worked in the barber shop,” Della Fave said.

The Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and pronounced Wolf dead at 10:21 a.m., he said.
