Oyster Creek Plans Educational Activities For Public On June 6
Event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Curious about how the Oyster Creek Nuclear Plant works?
Then come to a "Community Education Night" to be held at the plant on Route 9 in Lacey Township from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday.
"We enjoy listening to our neighbors, answering questions and teaching them about Oyster Creek and nuclear energy,” said Garey Stathes, Site Vice President. “The students who participate in Energy Education Day will learn about nuclear energy and the important role Oyster Creek plays in their community."

The evening session will focus on plant operations, emergency preparedness, used fuel storage, safety, security environmental stewardship and community outreach. Light refreshments will be served.
Exelon - the plant's owner - will also hold "Energy Education Day" from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the day for elementary, middle and high school students. they will participate in presentations and activities about energy, nuclear power options and career opportunities in science and technology fields, said plant spokesperson Suzanne D'Ambrosio.

Both events will be held at the station’s Education Center off of Route 9 on Intake View Lane, just north of the plant’s main entrance in Forked River.
