LACEY, NJ — A Walmart shopper tried cutting the chord before even buying the television. The person tried returning a 75-inch TV on July 30, but it turned out he just took it off the shelf and tried to get the refund money, police said.

The man tried "returning" the television without a receipt. When customer service questioned him, he left the store without the TV or the refund.

Surveillance footage showed the suspect entered the store with an empty cart, placed the television on it and proceeded directly to the service counter to try to get a refund.
