Police Investigating Theft Of $11,000 In Jewelry From Forked River Home

Someone forced open a door in a locked bedroom during a party and took the items, police chief says

Lacey police are investigating the theft of $11,000 worth of jewelry from a home on Elwood Street in Forked River, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.

Officer Michael Eden responded to the 800 block of the street on a report of a theft at 8 a.m. on April 12. The homeowners told police that while they were away on vacation, an adult family member held a party at the home. An unknown person or persons forced their way into a locked bedroom and stole the jewelry, the chief said.

Lacey Detective Robert Surtees is in charged of the investigation, Paprota said.
