For decades, the Lacey Lions and Central Regional Golden Eagles met on the gridiron for classic Thanksgiving Day Football battles. Many times these games would be followed by a State Championship game for one of the schools as well. In recent years due to conference realignments the rivalry game has not been played. This pause in the series has not stopped the rivalry, (as both communities still yearn for the classic matchup), it has in fact had the opposite effect of making the intense rivalry run even hotter and thicker. With this desire to play in mind, alumni football players from both schools are going to strap on helmets and play a full pads football game against each other and let the rivalry boil over on the field once again! For many, high school football is one of the most enjoyable experiences in one’s life. Those 4 years fly by however and all we are left with are memories… Until now. The game will be held on June 4th, 6:30 PM at Central Regional High School.

Central players are fired up for the game. Additionally Lacey is ready for the game, as they have a long standing moto among the football team of ‘AAAO’ (Anybody Anywhere Anytime-Bar None). The full pads alumni football game will feature many of the past gridiron stars from both schools. For Lacey FB/LB Justin Pandorf of 2009 looks to lay the wood as he did so many times throughout his career. It is also anticipated the at least three of the four Elias brothers William, Greg and Keith (former Giant and Colt) will be either coaching or playing in the game for Lacey. On the Central side former 2008 All Shore star RB Sam Pepe and the well known Hardy brother rushing crew, will all be looking to claim part time citizenship in the Lacey end zone, due to frequency of visits.

The full pads alumni football game is set to take place on Saturday, June 4th at 6:30 PM at the Central Regional High School turf football stadium. The event is being organized and promoted by OT Football who will provide all the necessary equipment, field insurance, referees in addition to organizing and promoting the event. The cost to play in the game is just $100 per player. Admission for fans will be $10 and proceeds will benefit the Lacey and Central High School TD Clubs.
