Rescued From Life In A Living Hell
Popcorn Park Zoo is caring for some of the 17 dogs found living in a filthy Jackson garage.
None of the dogs had ever seen daylight.
They were born and lived in filth and misery in a garage in Jackson, New Jersey, until the day they were rescued.
"All are less than a year old and all are completely terrified," according to a post on the Popcorn Park Zoo's Facebook page.

The New Jersey SPCA alerted Popcorn Park about the problem and Home Free Rescue removed many of the dogs. Popcorn Park has four of them.
"They were born in that garage and never set foot outside of it under the day they were removed, put into crates and then away from the hell that they were living in," according to Popcorn Park.

There was no ventilation, no drainage and no windows in the feces-covered garage. The dogs were saturated in urine and feces, their hair twisted up tightly against their skin. Three of the dogs Popcorn Park took in had to be completely shaved down to the skin. The female was soaked in a warm bath for an hour to remove the waste, but did not have to be shaved, the post states.
"The cleaning up of these poor dogs was absolutely dreadful, but that was the easy part, really," the Facebook page states. "The hard part is getting them to realize that they are safe and cared for, and that they have nothing to be afraid of. Right now they are still quite terrified and can barely handle being touched."
The pups will need a lot of work and socialization before they are available for adoption. If you want to help, please donate to the Res-Q-Fund.east

"Our new friends Pinto, Sprout, Huckleberry and Clementine thank you for your support," the post states. "We will update again soon on their condition."
