Rock 2 Adopt Returns To Popcorn Park Zoo
Popcorn Park Zoo hosts 2 day music event to help pets find homes.

On Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, Rock 2 Adopt returns to the Popcorn Park Zoo, located at 1 Humane Way in Forked River. Running from 9:45am until 7pm on both days, the zoo will be alive with music, face painting, balloon animals and jugglers. A $20 wristband allows you to attend both days. A family 4 pack, which is for 2 adults and 2 children (age 2 - 15), is also available for $40. Children (age 2 - 15) have an admission price of $10. Children under 2 years of age are free. All money that is raised goes directly to the shelter. No outside pets are allowed into the zoo due to the fact that orphaned dogs will be looking to find a good home.
Both days will be opened up with "The Heavy Metal Poet" Dennis Townsend. Townsend also hosts the Crushed Beneath Poetry open mic at the Point Pleasant Library on the first Thursday of every month. Some people may remember Townsend as the drummer for Warhead.
On Saturday, the music will be provided by Alex Chernick, Big Wave, Chardonairs, Marty Schmidt Band, NecroGarden, VyntEdge Rock N Blues Band, 44 Fridays, Random Notes and Midnight Overdrive. On Sunday, the band stage will be occupied by Puppy Grease, Jersey Surecats, Junkyard Dawgs, 6 Gun Sound, Flatleaver, Ripped, Tilted, Jimmy Clark and Samantha Lynne.
