Driving A Quad On Route 9 Is A No-No
Lacey police charge Forked River man with numerous summonses after he was spotted tooling down the roadway in a quad at 1:53 a.m.

Lacey police recently charged a Forked River man with a suspended driver’s license for riding down Route 9 in his quad in the early morning hours of Sept. 3, Police Chief David A. Paprota said.
Patrolman Anthony Sarno was on patrol at 1:53 a.m. in the area of Route 9 South and Taylor Lane when he saw a man driving on the roadway, then turning into the Wawa store on Route 9 South. Sarno conducted a traffic stop and arrested Marc C. Buchta, 46, of Jay Street, the chief said.
Buchta was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered off-road vehicle, driving an uninsured off-road vehicle, not wearing a helmet and operating an off-road vehicle on a public street. Buchta also had a $157 outstanding warrant from the Ocean County Sheriff‘s Department, Paprota said.

He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in default of bail. The off-road vehicle was impounded, the chief said.
