Shoplifting, DWI Reported In Lacey: April Police Blotter

Here are some of the incidents Lacey police responded to during April.

LACEY, NJ — DWI, shoplifting and more were reported during the month of April in Lacey.

That's according to the monthly police blotter, publishing different incidents Lacey police respond to in a month.

Nature: Shoplifting/Eluding
On Friday, April 3, 2026, at 2:49pm, Officer Lepeshko responded to Walmart for a report ofa shoplifter who had fled the scene on an e-bike. Officer Ravallo located the suspect, 57 year old Kathryn Cort of Forked River, who refused to stop and resisted arrest. Kathryn was placed under arrest and charged with Eluding, Shoplifting, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction, and Refusal to Submit Fingerprints. Kathryn was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.

Nature: DWI/ Possession of CDS
On Friday, April 3, 2026, at 10:25pm Officer Primavera responded to Lacey Road and Route 9 for a report of a driver asleep at the wheel of a vehicle. Officers located and identified the driver, 42 year old Brian DiMaria of Lanoka Harbor, whose vehicle was still stopped in the roadway. The on scene investigation concluded with Brian being placed under arrest for DWI. Brian was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Delaying Traffic, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, as well as Possession of CDS on a complaint warrant. Brian was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.

Nature: DWI
On Sunday, April 5, 2026, at 9:21pm, Officer Swain conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Beach Boulevard and South Main Street for headlights required. Officer Swain met with the driver, 39 year old Thomas Vassallo Jr of Waretown. Investigation on scene revealed that Thomas was operating the vehicle while under the influence and he was placed under arrest for DWI. Thomas was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, and Lights Required. Brian was charged on a complaint warrant for Being Under the Influence of CDS, Unlawful Possession of Weapons, Certain Persons, and Prohibited Weapons, then lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.

Nature: DWI
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 02:55am, several Officers including Officer Meyh responded to North Main St and Sunrise Blvd for a report of an unconscious driver whose vehicle was resting against a traffic light post. Upon arrival officers met with the driver, 25 year old Anthony Munoz of Forked River, who was displaying signs of impairment. The investigation led to Anthony being placed under arrest for DWI. Anthony was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Open Container and Consumption in a Motor Vehicle. Anthony was released in accordance to John’s Law.

Nature: Burglary/Theft
On Thursday, April 16, 2026, Officer Tranz responded to the area of Yacht Basin Plaza South and Lakeside Drive East for a report of a burglary and theft from a trailer. It was reported that equipment valued at $2,300 was stolen from the trailer. Further investigation identified the suspect as 39 year old Matthew Clinton of Forked River. On Tuesday April 21, 2026, detectives located and placed Matthew under arrest and charged him with Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief.

Nature: Shoplifting
On Friday, April 17, 2026, at 4:54pm, Officer Walsh responded to Walmart for a report of shoplifting. The suspect, 32 year old Cassandra Holdsworth of Waretown, was placed under arrest and charged with Shoplifting. Cassandra was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.

Nature: Possession of Stolen Property
On Friday, April 17, 2026, at 5:10pm, Officer Hyle and Sgt. Sarno responded to the area of the Route 9 and Sunrise Boulevard after a call was received from the owner of an electronic scooter company stating that one of their scooters was recently stolen and now showing to be in the area. Officers observed the stolen scooter located in a parked vehicle at a local business, before locating the suspect, 69 year old Kenneth Nelson, Sr. of Rockville, NY. Kenneth was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Stolen Property. Kenneth was also found to have an outstanding warrant originating out of Ocean County. Kenneth was turned over to the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office.

Nature: Shoplifting
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 21:22 hours, Officer Biel and Officer Copes responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter that fled from the store. Officers located the suspect, 52 year old Kimberly Guido of Forked River, who attempted to steal merchandise. Kimberly was arrested and charged with Shoplifting.

Nature: Shoplifting
On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at approximately 11:59am, Officer Tranz responded to Shoprite for a report shoplifting. The investigation revealed the suspect, 56 year old Susanne Spagnolo of Bayville, had shoplifted items from the store. Officer Tranz continued the investigation and on April 23, 2026, Susanne was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

Nature: Shoplifting
On Friday, April 24, 2026, Officer Tranz responded to Walmart for a report of shoplifting. The investigation revealed 55 year old Thea Spina of Bayville had shoplifted merchandise. Thea was placed under arrest and charged with Shoplifting.

Nature: DWI
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 08:18am, Officer Lee responded to the area of Clune Park for a disturbance. The investigation revealed that 40 year old John Jackowski of Forked River, had driven to the park and was showing signs of impairment. John was arrested and charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, and Open Container. John was released in accordance to John’s Law.

Nature: Criminal Mischief/Trespassing
On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 1:26pm, Officer Slota responded to the Forked River Mountain entry on West Lacey Road for damage to the gate. Ocean County Security reported on April 18, 2026, someone drove a pickup through the gate causing $2200 in damage. Officer Slota’s investigation identified the driver of the vehicle as 38 year old Jon Niemiec of Chesterfield. Officer Slota charged Jon with Criminal Mischief and Trespassing on a complaint warrant. On May 2, 2026, Jon was arrested and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
