Stephen E. Karczewski Of Forked River Dies At 70
Services for U.S. Army veteran, National Guardsman to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday

Stephen E. Karczewski, 70, of Forked River died on Tuesday, Feb. 24 after a short illness.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and lived in Rahway before moving to Forked River in 1976.
Stephen was an Army veteran and for 31 years was employed at NAWC Lakehurst. He also retired from the National Guard of New Jersey after 31 years of service.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years Regina; a son David of Brooklyn, NY; a daughter Laurie Wimbush of Forked River; four grandchildren and his father Steve.
He was a member of the Lacey Elks, VFW Post 10061 and the Lakehurst Rod & Gun Club.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Layton’s Home For Funerals, Forked River. Relatives and friends may arrive at 11 a.m. before the funeral mass at noon at the Church of Saint Pius X, in Forked River. Burial will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
