THE SECRET TO A HAPPY LIFE

There once was a fairly popular pop singer by the name of Doris Day. She was known for her bright smile, her freckled face and her various romantic comedy roles on the big screen where she starred opposite guys like Rock Hudson and James Garner. Later in life, she became an avid animal rights activist in Carmel, California where she lived down the street from Clint Eastwood.
Anyway, she had a big hit on the charts in her day called Que Sera Sera, ....or What Will Be, Will Be.
There was a lot of wisdom in those words. And I hope that kind of wisdom will be the theme of my blog.
The secret to a happy life, with all it's problems and challenges, is remembering the words of Doris Day. What Will Be, Will Be!
It seems simple, but some of life's greatest lessons are the simplest. In essence, don't sweat the small stuff, and in the grand scheme of things, it's all small stuff! The Zen Buddhists know this. So do people who are active in recovery. The first rule of recovery is to admit we are all powerless. That in order to hold on, we have to let go!  There are some things in life that we cannot change so we have to remind ourselves it is what it is! And move on.
So, when you are navigating that obstacle course we call life, focus on the positive, try to see the big picture, and remember the words of Doris Day.....What Will Be, Will Be!
