William Thomas Rainey II Of Forked River Dies At 65

William Thomas Rainey II passed away at age 65 on December 14, 2015.

He was born on May 30, 1950 at Muhlenburg Hospital in Plainfield. He graduated from Scotch Plains- Fanwood High School in 1968. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers College in 1972. He was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity and served as chapter historian.

He was the manager of the Monmouth University Book Store from 1982 until he retired in 2014. Prior to that,he worked at the Livingston Bookstore as manager from 1974-1982.

William served in many positions in the MAC (Middle Atlantic College Stores) organization and was elected as president in 2012-2013.

William is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years: Valarie Joy Brand Rainey of Forked River; three daughters- Mrs. Erika Noel Brand Schmidt and her husband Peter Schmidt of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Tiffany Rebekah Brand Rainey of Denver, Colorado; Miss Rachael Faith Brand Rainey of Asbury Park; a son Shawn Patrick Kenyon Brand Rainey of Horsham, Pennsylvania; his brother Robert Kenyon Rainey and his wife Caroline Rainey of Louisville, Kentucky; his sister Miss Andrea Kenyon Rainey of Irving, Texas; two nieces Miss Jennifer Rainey of Arlington, Virginia, and Mrs. Ashley Donahey and her husband Mark of Washington D,C.

A memorial service is planned for a later dater. Arrangements are under the direction of the Riggs Funeral Home, in Forked River.
