Woman Hit, Killed By Vehicle On Haines Street: Lacey Police

Police say she was hit when she stepped into the vehicle's path.

LACEY, NJ — An woman was killed Friday night when she was hit by a vehicle on Haines Street, Lacey police said.

The woman, whose identity was not released but whom police described as elderly, was hit near the intersection with Oak Hill Court shortly before 7 p.m., Lacey Sgt. George Resetar said.

The investigation showed she stepped into the path of a vehicle that was eastbound on Haines Street, Resetar said.

Th woman was taken to Community Medical Center, Toms River, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Responding agencies included the Lanoka Harbor EMS and MONOC paramedics. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit also responded to assist in the investigation, as well as members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Support Team.
