Woman Kicks Lacey Cop, Damages Patrol Car: Blotter

The woman was kicked out of a home and broke a window to try re-entering, police said.

LACEY, NJ — A woman kicked a Lacey officer and damaged a patrol car Sunday night, police said. Officers removed the woman after a dispute in a home on Barnacle Road, according to police.

Officers Martin Julian, Patrick Watkins and Elton Copes responded to the incident at 10:56 p.m. Sunday. They discovered Ashley Mazzola, 23, was removed from the home after throwing things inside the house, police said.

Mazzola broke a window to try and re-enter the home and sustained several lacerations on her arm, police said. Mazzola kicked Watkins as officers remained on the scene, officials said.

Police took her into custody and put her in the back of the patrol car, where she kicked the rear doors and caused damage, police said.

Mazzola was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and criminal mischief, police said. She was released from custody in accordance with bail reform.
