2 Injured In Crash As SUV Runs Stop Sign, Hits School Bus In Lakewood

The SUV's driver was issued a summons, Lakewood police said.

LAKEWOOD, NJ β€” Two people were injured in a crash Wednesday evening when an SUV ran a stop sign, Lakewood police said Thursday.

The crash happened about 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of Oak Street and Towbin Avenue, Capt. Gregory Staffordmith said.

Shmuel Fink, 29, was driving a 2022 Ford Explorer and did not stop at the stop sign on the southeast corner of Towbin Avenue, Staffordsmith said.

As he drove into the intersection, the Ford was hit by a school bus that was going east on Oak Street, Staffordsmith said.

Fink and the bus driver, who was not identified, were taken to the hospital for evaluation after complaining of pain, he said.

Fink was issued a summons for failure to stop by Officer Christopher Dunphy, Staffordsmith said.
