3rd Shooting On Lakewood Street Under Investigation: Police

Police have been called to the area three times in September; on Wednesday, 4 gunshots were heard, police said.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — For the third time in September, police answered a call reporting gunshots on Erica Road in Lakewood, police said Thursday.

Lakewood police were called just after 6 p.m. Wednesday after residents at a home on the street reported hearing the shots, Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said.

They told Officer Nadine Clarke that they heard about four gunshots but did not see anyone in the area, Staffordsmith said. He said Lakewood police are following up on several leads in the case.
