A Brick Township man was taken into custody on drug possession charges and held at Ocean County Jail, as police emphasize efforts to keep illegal drugs off Lakewood's streets.
3. JUST IN: LSTA To Charge Hundreds More For Each Non-Mandated Child (thelakewoodscoop.com) — Lakewood families with non-mandated students will face sharply higher busing costs this school year after state cuts wiped out a $2.7 million township subsidy to the Lakewood Student Transportation Authority. About 20,000 local children are affected, shifting more transportation expenses onto parents, while students in Howell, Jackson, and Toms River are not impacted.
