LAKEWOOD, NJ — Lakewood families should take note before the new week begins: public schools will be closed Monday for Yom Kippur.
According to the Lakewood School District calendar, schools will be closed Monday in observance of Yom Kippur.
The closure comes less than two weeks after the district's first day for all students on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Students are scheduled to return following Monday's closure.
The closure applies across the Lakewood School District, including Lakewood High School, Lakewood Middle School, Clifton Avenue School, Oak Street School, Spruce Street School and Lakewood Adult High School.
The district's next listed school closure is Monday, Oct. 12, for Columbus Day. The calendar also lists schools as closed Thursday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 6, for the NJEA Convention.
Families can check the district's online calendar for upcoming closures and other scheduled events.
