Texas Man Charged In $250K Lakewood Business Burglary

Police say a four-month investigation led to charges against a Houston man after equipment was stolen from a Lakewood business.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Texas man has been charged in connection with a Lakewood business burglary in which approximately $250,000 worth of equipment was stolen, police announced Thursday.

Ericson Pring, 35, of Houston, faces second-degree burglary, theft and criminal mischief charges, along with third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to the Lakewood Police Department.

Officers responded to the business on June 14 after a burglar alarm activated. They found shattered front glass doors, police said.

Investigators determined that multiple people had forced their way inside, damaged display cases and fled with equipment.

After a four-month investigation, detectives identified Pring as one of the suspects, police said.

"Our detectives stayed with this case and put in the work needed to identify a suspect," Police Chief Gregory H. Meyer said.

"I appreciate their efforts to hold those responsible accountable," he added.

Police credited the New Jersey State Police Communications Analysis Unit and Shomrim for assisting.

Anyone with information can contact Detective John Ganley at 732-363-0200, ext. 5392.

The charges are allegations, and Pring is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
