Black Truck Sought In Route 70 Hit-And-Run: Lakewood Police

The victim of the crash told Patch the truck that hit her destroyed her van.

LAKEWOOD, NJ β€” Authorities are searching for a black truck in connection with a hit-and-run crash that happened Tuesday morning on Route 70 in Lakewood.

Lakewood Lt. LeRoy Marshall confirmed police are investigating the crash that happened about 8:45 a.m.

The victim, in an email to Patch, said she was driving along Route 70 in morning traffic when a black truck that had been following closely decided to pass her.

The driver "purposefully hit my van and destroyed it," the woman wrote. The driver then sped off, she said. She tried to chase the driver but lost sight of him.

The crash happened near Shore Plaza, she said.

She said the vehicle was a black truck and the damage would include silver gray paint on the driver's side of the truck. She is hoping someone saw the incident or has seen the truck.

"I'm still affected by this, in total shock and disbelief," she said.
