DUI, Assault By Auto Charges In 6-Vehicle Crash In Lakewood
The crash on Cedar Bridge Avenue Wednesday not far from Brick initially was reported as involving 10 vehicles.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — One person has been charged with assault by auto and DUI after a six-vehicle crash that injured two people on Wednesday night, police said Thursday.
Patrice A. Edouard, 31, of Asbury Park, was charged with driving under the influence and assault by auto was additionally charged with driving while suspended, and several moving violations, Lakewood Sgt. Nathaniel Montgomery said.
Initially reported as a 10-car crash in a Nixle alert from police, Montgomery said the crash on Cedar Bridge Avenue not far from the entrance to the northbound Garden State Parkway involved six vehicles. It was reported at 5:09 p.m.

Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment of what Montgomery said were minor injuries, "none serious or life-threatening," he said.
All but one of the vehicles sustained major damage.

The investigation is continuing, Montgomery said.
