Fire Destroys Lakewood Home, Displaces 7-Member Family

There were no injuries in the fire that happened Sunday evening, authorities said.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A fire at a home on Columbus Avenue Sunday has left seven people displaced, Lakewood police said Monday.

No one was injured, Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said.

The fire started about 11 p.m., Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch said in a post on its Facebook page. The house was destroyed, and the group, along with the American Red Cross, assisted the family.

Staffordsmith said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
