Driver Charged With DWI, Drug Possession After Crash At Lakewood Intersection
Police said Jaime Comse-Gonzalez, 41, appeared to be under the influence after a Ford Transit van crash at Ocean and New Hampshire avenues.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Jackson man was arrested on drug and drunken driving charges following a motor vehicle crash in Lakewood on May 24, Lakewood Police said Thursday.
Officers responded to the intersection of Ocean Avenue and New Hampshire Avenue after a passerby reported the crash and located a damaged Ford Transit van at the scene.
The driver, Jaime Comse-Gonzalez, 41, of Jackson, appeared to be under the influence, police said.

During a search incident to arrest, officers recovered a quantity of suspected cocaine. Comse-Gonzalez was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and issued several motor vehicle summonses, including driving while intoxicated.
“This arrest highlights the dangers impaired drivers pose not only to themselves, but to everyone sharing the roadway,” said Chief Gregory H. Meyer. “Our officers remain committed to proactively identifying impaired drivers and taking enforcement action before more serious tragedies occur.”
