Lakewood Marks Memorial Day With Parade, Ceremony At Lake Carasaljo
The flag raising begins at 11 a.m. at Town Square; a memorial ceremony hosted by Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller follows at 11:45 a.m.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — Lakewood Township will hold its annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony Monday, May 25, beginning at 11 a.m. with a flag-raising at Town Square, Clifton Avenue and Third Street.
A grand procession will then march southbound on Clifton Avenue to the All Wars Memorial at Lake Carasaljo on North Lake Drive, off Route 9. At 11:45 a.m., Mayor Ray Coles will lead a ceremony at the memorial featuring live addresses, musical tributes, and a gun salute honoring those who died in service to the United States.
Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller, a chaplain with the U.S. Air Force, said the township is honored to pay tribute to the military heroes who have served throughout the generations.

"As one who has been privileged to have a close-up view of the men and women in the U.S. Military in action, no words can adequately describe the patriotism and valor they display in their service," Miller said.
"Lakewood Township is honored to once again do our part to honor our military heroes throughout the generations who have paid the greatest price imaginable so that America can remain the world's beacon of freedom and prosperity."
