Lakewood Pair Charged In String Of Vehicle Burglaries
Police charged the two in connection with burglaries dating back to mid-April and said more charges are anticipated.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Three people have been arrested in connection with a number of vehicle burglaries in Lakewood over the last few weeks, Lakewood police said.
Shadira Jones, 28, and Jeffrey Perez, 31, both of Lakewood, and Eugene Ware, 42, of the Forked River section of Lacey, were arrested Monday following the investigation that began in mid-April, Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said.
Jones and Perez have been charged with burglary and theft in connection with vehicle burglaries on the following dates:

- April 11 on 13th Street;
- April 16 on Courtney Road;
- April 20 on First Street and Second Street;
- May 7 on 8th Street;
- May 9 on 7th Street.
Ware was arrested separately and is accused of acting as a lookout during the April 20 burglaries on First and Second streets.
Perez and Jones also are facing charges involving the fraudulent use of stolen credit cards that were taken during the vehicle burglaries, Staffordsmith said.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected, he said.
Perez and Jones are being held at the Ocean County Jail, according to county corrections department records. Ware was not listed in the database.
