Lakewood Police Camp Registration Opens June 1
Camp includes physical training, interaction with the K-9 unit, and field trips. It's open to Lakewood residents aged 11-13.
LAKEWOOD, NJ β The annual Lakewood Police Camp will be in August, the township announced, and registration opens June 1.
The camp is open to all township residents aged 11-13, the township said. Enrollment is limited, and participants will be selected by lottery.
Registration runs June 1-July 31 at the township's Traffic and Safety Office at 231 3rd Street. The camp is Aug. 15-19 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Ocean County Police Academy.

It includes physical training, interaction with the K-9 unit, and field trips, including a tour of the police department. Camp will end with a graduation ceremony.
Lunch will be provided. All participants must:

- be able to perform rigorous physical activities
- adhere to a strict disciplinary policy
- wear khaki shorts and sneakers. (T-shirts, hats, and water bottles are provided).
Parents must attend a pre-camp meeting Thursday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Lakewood Police Department.
