LAKEWOOD, NJ — The Lakewood Police Department is inviting residents to join its officers for a night of food, fun and community at its National Night Out event.

Lakewood's National Night Out is set for 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Lakewood Pine Park, 500 Country Club Drive.

There will be free rides and giveaways, a BMX stunt show, free pizza and barbecue (which will be in separate areas under rabbinical supervision) and live music by the Wilbur Whitman Band.

National Night Out started in the 1980s as part of an effort to bring communities and law enforcement together to deter crime.
