Lakewood Police Identify, Charge Driver In Eluding Case
Detectives identified Nicholas Ratajczak as the driver in a May 4 incident; Bronson Sandford was also issued motor vehicle summonses.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Toms River man has been charged with eluding following a Lakewood Police Department investigation into a May 4 incident.
Detectives identified Nicholas Ratajczak, 21, as the driver involved in the incident. Officers later located Ratajczak and the vehicle believed to be connected to the investigation.
Ratajczak was taken into custody and charged with eluding, along with several motor vehicle violations. He was released pending a future court appearance, police said.

A second individual, Bronson Sandford, was also identified during the investigation and issued multiple motor vehicle summonses related to the incident.
The investigation was conducted by the Lakewood Police Department's Traffic Unit with assistance from the Toms River Police Department.

Chief Gregory H. Meyer commended the officers and detectives involved, as well as the Toms River Police Department for its assistance.
"This investigation is another example of the dedication and persistence of our officers in holding reckless drivers accountable and keeping our roadways safe," Meyer said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
