LAKEWOOD, NJ -- A tire-slashing spree that happened early Saturday is being investigated as a bias crime, Lakewood police said Sunday.

More than 100 tires were slashed on vehicles in the Old Pine Acres section of town early Saturday, Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said.

All of the vehicles were owned or operated by members of Jewish faith and this matter is being investigated as a bias incident, he said.
