SUV, Driver Sought In Hit-And-Run That Injured Cyclist In Lakewood
Police are searching for an SUV that hit a cyclist on Cross Street and fled; the woman is in critical condition, authorities said.
LAKEWOOD, NJ β Authorities are searching for an SUV that hit a bicyclist on Cross Street in Lakewood on Tuesday evening and took off, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
The cyclist, a 35-year-old woman, was hit at the intersection of Cross Street and Maplehurst Avenue about 7:15 p.m., authorities said. Authoo==
The woman was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with serious bodily injuries and was listed in critical condition, authorities said.

The cyclist was riding north on Cross Street when she was hit by the vehicle that also was northbound, and the vehicle took off afterward, authorities said.
The vehicle was believed to be a blue or silver Toyota or Lexus sport utility vehicle, likely with damage on the front end and front bumper, authorities said.
