Van Hits School Bus Loading Kids Head-On In Lakewood: Report
There were injuries but none were described as severe, police said.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — At least two people were injured Monday when a van hit a stopped school bus head-on as the bus was loading students, according to a report.
The Lakewood Scoop reported that the crash happened about 7:30 a.m. Monday on Central Avenue. Video published by the Scoop from the school bus's dashcam shows the bus slow down and stop. A car stops in the oncoming lane, and the van swerves at the last second to avoid the car, hitting the bus head-on.
Lakewood police were unable to provide additional details Wednesday due to a technical issue, but Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said limited information about the crash said there were several people who suffered injuries to their mouths.

He did not have the age of the students or information on whether the students were en route to a public school or a private school.
