Saturday, April 30 – Friends of the Lawrence Library Book Sale
The Friends of the Lawrence Library will host a book sale from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 30 at the Lawrence Township headquarters of the Mercer County Library at 2751 Brunswick Pike (Business Route 1) at the corner of East Darrah Lane. Proceeds from the sale benefit children’s and adult program offerings at the library.

Saturday, April 30 – Drug Take Back
Lawrence Township is urging residents who have expired medications or medicines that they no longer need to safely dispose of the drugs during the “National Take Back Initiative” that the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is sponsoring on April 30. According to the DEA, over 5,300 sites nationwide will take part in the effort that seeks to prevent pill abuse and theft. Last September, Americans turned in more than 242,000 pounds – 121 tons – of prescription drugs at nearly 4,100 sites operated by more than 3,000 of the DEA’s state and local law enforcement partners.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting the local take back program. Anyone wishing to drop off drugs can do so at the Mercer County Administration Building at 640 S. Broad St. in Trenton between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on April 30.
Saturday, April 30 – Spring Fling
The Seventh Annual Spring Fling will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 30, at . The family-friendly outdoor carnival is co-hosted by the church and the . There will be pony rides, moon bounces, a recyclable art contest, music, games, food and more. Admission price for children 2 and older is $5 and includes five game tickets and a visit to the moon bounce. Additional game tickets can be purchased at $5 for 15 tickets. The rain date is May 7. Sunday, May 1 – Lawrenceville Main Street Jubilee
Lawrenceville Main Street will hold its 13th annual Jubilee, “an old-fashioned street fair,” from noon to 5 p.m. on May 1 along Gordon and Phillips avenues. Live music, food from several local eateries, games and activities for children – such as a moon walk, slide and face painting – will take place. There will be several community exhibits and the gallery of the Lawrenceville Main Street Artists Network will also be open.
Sunday, May 1 – Lawrence Arts Council 40th Anniversary
The Lawrence Arts Council will celebrate its 40th anniversary by holding a special program between 1 and 4 p.m. on May 1 at the Lawrence Township headquarters of the Mercer County Library at 2751 Brunswick Pike (Business Route 1). In conjunction with the event, the arts council will open its annual art show, which will run throughout the month of May.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Lawrence Township author Linda Levy will present a “how-to” on book writing and township artist Bill Plank will give a lecture and demonstration on landscape painting. Lawrence High School music students will perform jazz pieces as entertainment during the afternoon. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
