MERCER COUNTY, NJ — There was significant traffic back up on Route 295 South in Ewing township after five vehicles caught fire Monday morning, police said.

The incident took place around 6:15 a.m. this morning in the southbound lanes between Exit 75 (Trenton) and exit 73 (Scotch Road) past the Scudders Falls bridge and into Pennsylvania, Ewing police said.

The five vehicles were on a carrier. According to a report by New Jersey 101.5, the vehicles on fire were electrical or hybrid.

The road is currently open with no delays, police said.
