9-Year-Old Rescued After Crawling Into Storm Drain In Lawrence

The child was visiting relatives and had wandered off and entered the storm drain, police said.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — A 9-year-old child was rescued from a storm drain in Lawrenceville on Tuesday evening, the Lawrence Police Department said.

On Tuesday around 4:51 p.m., Lawrence Township Police, Lawrence Township Fire Departments, and Emergency Services responded to the Lawrenceville Point development on a report that a child had crawled into a storm drain and became lost.

The 9-year-old was visiting relatives in the area and had wandered off and entered the storm drain, police said. The child was located within a short time by emergency responders and was unharmed within the drain, police said.

The child did not sustain any injuries and did not require any additional medical treatment, according to police.
