TRENTON, NJ — A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in a shooting that injured three people outside a local smoke shop and restaurant in mid-May, Trenton Police said.
Quashawn Emanuel was charged with criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess a firearm in connection with the incident.
His arrest follows a shooting that took place in the early morning of Sunday, May 10.
At 4:10 a.m., police received a report that three people (a 31-year-old woman, a 32-year-old woman, and a 35-year-old man) had arrived at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Further investigation revealed that the victims were shot during an incident at NJ Weedman's Joint Restaurant at 322 East State Street.
Following this incident, the Mercer County Shooting Response team responded and conducted an investigation into the shooting.
As a result of the investigation, Emanuel was identified as the shooting suspect and warrants for his arrest were issued.
On Friday, May 22, Emanuel was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal Service in Vineland, NJ.
