NJ Woman Dies In Mercer County Crash, Police Say

The crash occurred Friday afternoon and involved a collision with a Ford F-250 utility body truck and a Kia wagon, police said.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ — An 81-year-old woman has died following a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Friday afternoon, Robbinsville Police said.

At 2:36 p.m. on Friday, Robbinsville Communications received multiple 911 calls reporting a two-vehicle crash on Route 130 north of Woodside Road in Robbinsville Township.

Once officers arrived at the scene of the crash, they found a serious collision involving a Ford F-250 utility body truck and a Kia wagon.

Robbinsville Fire & EMS, along with Hamilton Fire & Rescue personnel, extricated a victim from the Kia and immediately transferred patient care to Robbinsville EMS and Capital Health paramedics.

Due to the severity of the victim's injuries, she was brought to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton Township.

Despite lifesaving efforts by emergency personnel and hospital staff, police said the victim succumbed to her injuries.

The identity of the deceased, an 81-year-old woman from Hamilton Township, is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Following the crash on Friday, both the northbound and southbound lanes of Route 130 were closed for several hours while the Robbinsville Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Serious Collision Response Team conducted an on-scene investigation.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.

The Robbinsville Township Police Department extended its thanks to the NJ State Police Traffic Incident Management Team, West Windsor Fire Company No. 1 Fire Police, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 Fire Police, and the NJ Department of Transportation for their assistance with traffic control and detours during the investigation.
