LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — “Jeopardy!” champion and Lawrence Township resident Jamie Ding visited Lawrence Township Public Schools on Tuesday for a community evening celebrating learning, curiosity and inspiration.
Ding, whose 31-game winning streak captivated national audiences, spoke to a crowd of students, families, staff and community members about his journey to and through his historic run on the iconic quiz show. When asked to describe his “Jeopardy!” experience in one word, Ding kept it simple: "Fun."
Five Lawrence High School students joined Ding on stage as moderators, posing questions submitted in advance by students from across the district as well as their own. Ding also took questions from the audience and stayed after the event to meet attendees and take photos.
Throughout the evening, Ding emphasized the value of staying curious, asking questions and embracing lifelong learning — encouraging students to pursue knowledge not just for achievement, but for the joy of discovery.
"We are incredibly grateful to Jamie for sharing his time, experiences, and wisdom with our school community," Superintendent Robyn A. Klim said. "His humility, enthusiasm for learning, and encouragement for students to stay curious exemplify the values we strive to foster throughout Lawrence Township Public Schools."
