MERCER COUNTY, NJ - Mercer County will host a series of Friday evening gatherings at South Riverwalk Park in Trenton this summer, County Executive Dan Benson announced.
The "Happy Hour on the River" events will take place before each Trenton Thunder home game, running from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Fridays beginning July 24 and continuing through Aug. 28, according to the county.
"These events are an opportunity for us to relax at the end of a summer week and to enjoy an evening beside the beautiful Delaware River," Benson said. "At a time when it's so easy to feel isolated, we're focused on bringing people together with fun gatherings that are accessible to all our residents."
Each event will feature live music starting at 5 p.m., along with activities for kids and families and craft beer and food available for purchase, the county said.
Admission is free. Parking is available for $5 at the adjacent Trenton Thunder lot; street parking will not be available. The first 250 attendees each week will receive $1 hot dogs, according to the county.
The concert lineup kicks off July 24 with Amazin' Grace & the GLB, followed by Random Acts of Soul on July 31, Peter Fontaine Freestyle on Aug. 7, El Kabong on Aug. 14, and Rumbaile, Salsa & Santana closing out the series on Aug. 28.
