LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Rider University has entered into a partnership with CollegeVine, a higher education technology company that develops AI-powered tools for student recruitment and student services, the university announced.
Through the partnership, Rider will implement CollegeVine's AI Recruiter and AI One Stop tools to improve communication, simplify access to university resources and provide support throughout the student journey, according to the university.
The university said the investment comes as colleges and universities nationwide face changing demographics and growing demands for more personalized, responsive service.
"Students and families deserve personalized support and easy access to the information they need," Rider University President John R. Loyack said in a statement. "These tools give us new ways to serve them at every stage of the Rider experience — from helping prospective students discover what Rider has to offer to helping current students and families stay informed and connected. While we all teach technologies like the use of AI tools, higher education is generally slow to adopt new technologies like AI into our business practices. We see great opportunity in being an early adopter."
According to the university, colleges have historically had limited ability to provide highly individualized communication early in the recruitment process, when admissions teams may be engaging with thousands of prospective students at once. AI Recruiter is designed to offer more personalized outreach earlier in the process, providing students with information relevant to their interests and where they are in the college search, the university said.
At Rider, AI Recruiter will extend that engagement throughout the admission process, while AI One Stop will continue it for current students and families by providing access to information, deadline reminders and guidance on university services, according to the university. The technology can communicate in more than 50 languages, operate around the clock and proactively reach out to students with reminders and next steps, the university said.
"There are so many details students and their families have to keep track of throughout the admissions and enrollment process — forms to complete, deadlines to meet and important next steps to stay on top of," Mary-Alice Ozechoski, senior vice president and chief of staff, said in a statement. "These tools give us another way to keep students informed, guide them through the process and even check in on their well-being so we can connect them with additional support when they need it."
Rider University expects to launch the AI Recruiter and AI One Stop tools this fall.
