Woman Killed In Mercer Co. Apartment Fire Was Lifelong Resident, Nurse

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — The woman who died in a Hamilton apartment fire last week has been identified as Lisa Hill, 67, a registered nurse and lifelong Hamilton resident, officials said.

Hill was pulled from the fire at the Winding Brook Apartments on Bradford Avenue on Sept. 24 and was pronounced dead at the scene, township spokesperson Bianca Jerez said at the time. Her two cats too died in the fire.

The fire was reported around 6:45 a.m. that day. The cause has not been determined, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Hill worked as a registered nurse and spent years caring for elderly residents in Groveville and Hamilton, working with local families, according to her obituary.

She loved animals and welcomed many pets into her home over the years.

"Her compassion for animals was part of who she was, and her beloved cats remained by her side until the end," the obituary said.

A private burial will take place at a later date, according to her family.
