MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Mercer County is looking for women who give their time to make the community better, and it wants your nominations.
County Executive Dan Benson and the Mercer County Commission on the Status of Women are accepting nominations for the 2027 Woman of Achievement and Young Woman of Achievement awards.
The Woman of Achievement Award honors women who volunteer to make Mercer County a better place to live, work, and raise a family. The Young Woman of Achievement Award goes to a high school student who has shown outstanding dedication to her community through service in the county.
"Across our County so many women give their time, energy, and passion to strengthen our communities, bring people together, and provide support to those who need it most," Benson said.
"We're proud to recognize these incredible women each year, and to hold them up as shining examples of the spirit that makes Mercer County such a special place to live."
Nominations are due by noon Monday, Nov. 16.
Recipients will be honored at an event on March 10, 2027. The county said more details will be shared later.

The Commission on the Status of Women was created in 1976 under the county's Department of Human Services. It helps the county develop policies and programs that improve women's lives. Its members also serve as a link between community groups working on those issues.
