LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Rider University's student-run radio station has been named the best college station in the country.

The station has been nominated for the award six times in the past seven years, a record, according to the university. This is the first time it has won.

"To be nominated for a Marconi Radio Award is so surreal. To win is even more incredible," said Kadie DiGiuseppe, a senior sports media major. "The list of people to thank goes on and on; the list of people that worked for this is even longer. 107.7 The Bronc is such a unique place where we are able to create friendships, amazing content and great events, but I still could have never dreamed of winning radio's biggest award. I am so grateful."

Dan Loges, a junior arts and entertainment industries management major, said the station got support from radio professionals and other colleges.

"It was an honor just to be nominated, and winning is an honor that's difficult to put into words," Loges said.

The Bronc won three Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Media Awards in February. It recently added video streaming, and its staff runs several campus traditions, including Scream Screen every October.

"I couldn't be more proud of and happy for this group of students who pour their hearts and souls into creating content for 107.7 The Bronc 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year," said John Mozes, the station's general manager and executive director of Rider's Student Media Center.

Mozes also credited the station's alumni.

"I'm also proud of and happy for all of the 107.7 The Bronc alumni whose hard work and dedication paved the way for this edition of student broadcasters to earn the NAB's coveted College Radio Station of the Year award," he said.

Students at the station get hands-on experience in broadcasting, news, sports, production, promotions, digital media, video production and social media.

The Marconi Radio Awards were established in 1989 and are named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi. They honor radio stations, on-air personalities, podcasts and industry leaders.
