Andrew Zuckerman Named Acting Lawrence Township Superintendent
His term will run from May 19 through Aug. 16.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Dr. Andrew Zuckerman has been appointed Acting Superintendent, the Lawrence Township School District announced. He will assume the position from Dr. Crystal Edwards, who will retire effective May 19. Zuckerman’s tenure will run from May 19 through Aug. 16.
He was appointed on Jan. 10, the same night the Lawrence Township Public Schools Board of Education (BOE) accepted Edwards’s resignation. The Board of Education will employ a search firm to help find a permanent superintendent.
“The Board is pleased to appoint Andrew Zuckerman as Acting Superintendent following Dr. Edwards’ retirement,” Board of Education President Kevin Van Hise said. “Dr. Zuckerman has been exemplary in his role as Director of Instructional Services for the past six years and he has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the district, the board, our staff, and, most importantly, our students. We are excited for the opportunity this provides to both him and the district. The appointment will allow for the continuity of
all our great programs while we undertake our search for a new superintendent.”
