Anonymous Tip Leads to Drug Bust in Mercer County

Antone Williams was charged with six counts after officers found $650 worth of crack/cocaine concealed under his clothes.

A Trenton man has been charged for possession of 32 glassine bags of suspected crack/cocaine after the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department acted on an anonymous tip relating to ongoing drug activity in the area on Wednesday.

Antone Williams, 34, was charged with loitering, possession of CDS cocaine, distribution of CDS cocaine, distributing CDS near a public park (Gandhi Garden Park), distributing CDS near a school (Daylight-Twilight Alternative High School), and tampering with evidence.

A Mercer County Sheriff’s Officer Patrol Unit responded at approximately 2 p.m. to the 200 block of Hanover Street. Williams was found to be concealing 32 glassine bags of crack/cocaine with a total weight of 8.2 grams worth about $650 under his clothes.

A State Police K-9 unit assisted with a search of his car, and positively indicated that narcotics were once present in the vehicle.

“The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is grateful for the anonymous tip that helped remove a blatant drug dealer off of our streets,” Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler said. “I am obliged to the swift action of the Sheriff’s Patrol Unit and the rapid assistance of the NJ State Police.”

Williams is being held at the Mercer County Correction Center on $100,000 bail.
