Funding will help women and girls prepare for employment

Lawrenceville, NJ - 9/26/23– Dress for Success Central NJ, (DFSCNJ) a local non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and girls to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help clients thrive in work and in life, has received a $15,000 grant from Bank of America (BofA).

The grant will help fund the critical workforce development and confidence building programs DFSCNJ provides, while improving economic mobility in Central NJ. DFSCNJ offers 10 signature programs for clients who are looking to enter or re-enter the workforce. These programs provide women and girls with the essential tools and confidence needed to obtain and retain employment. Personalized programs such as Personal Branding, Effective Communication and Designing Your Future support clients through every stage of their employment journey – from pre-employment job searches to post-employment professional development.

“At Dress for Success women have access to opportunities and resources and are provided with the confidence to have power to control their own lives, both personally and professionally,” says Melissa Tenzer, CEO, DFSCNJ. “We are here for every woman, whether it’s for clothes, programs, advice, mentorship, a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen. We appreciate Bank of America’s generous support and continued investment in our Women’s Empowerment Programs locally and nationally.”

In addition to the generous financial support, BofA employees have held clothing drives and have donated more than 1,200 pieces of clothing and accessories to the DFSCNJ Image Enhancement Boutique where women and girls are paired with a personal shopper to acquire the perfect outfit for an interview or for the start of their career journey.

The grant is part of BofA's philanthropic giving efforts in local communities. Awardees were selected for their commitment to addressing basic needs and workforce development for individuals and families.
